On hold pending cloning

This blog is on hold as I can no longer do this, keep naturalchoices.co.uk going, twitter, stumbleupon, ethical economy and all the rest.

Social media, bloodly exhausting media is what it should be called.

Britain Refuses To Publish Cabinet Record Of Iraq War Decision - Radio Free Europe / Radio Liberty © 2009
On March 14th 2003 sometime in the afternoon I was walking down Whitehall then the wind blew the torn off top of a cigarette packet into my face. Imagine my surprise when I looked at it and found written on in a spidery hand.

Minutes of Cabinet Meeting. 13th March

PM, “George from Washington rang me and started going on about WMDs, he invited me and a few lads from the Army to go on a WMD hunting vacation to Iraq? Does anyone know what is a WMD is it like an STV?”
Jack the Lad, “Ask John he’s an expert on STVs”
John DPM, “Peniciline, works wonders, Don’t know about WMDs, must be a new strain, I have a cracking lad in my office who can find anything on the internet, I’ll have him write a report”.
Robin, “WMD are jolly bad, my ethical foreign policy says…
Interrupting, Jack the Lad, “Well we all know where your ethical pole is going to get you Robin!”
Peter G. (Legal bod) “Did George say the word vacation?”
PM, “Well his exact words I think where, “Fancy going and blowing the shit out Saddam Tony my boy, I ain’t had a war in Iraq and my Daddy had one so I want one too”
Peter, “The UNies and the frogs aren’t going to like that, I’m not sure its in the rules.”
PM, “Oh stop being a kill joy Goldie, it’ll be fun, sleep on it I’m sure you will see it in a different light in the morning.”
Claire, (Some bag lady in the corner shifting through her rubbish), “Now where did I leave that conscience of mine, it must be here somewhere, have you seen it Robin?”
Robin, “Don’t worry dear, it’s probably with mine, I am sure they will both turn up in a couple of days or so.”
PM, “So that’s agreed is it, Jolly good another war, will keep the one in Afghanistan company.”

Meeting Ends

So there you have it, the truth out in the open at last.

NUJ accuses Financial Times management of 'hypocrisy' | Media | guardian.co.uk

NUJ accuses Financial Times management of 'hypocrisy' | Media | guardian.co.uk

Good to see the NUJs sense of solidarity is as strong as usual! When I was at the FT, and trying to recruit people to SOGAT and later GPMU the NUJ was single mindedly avoiding giving any support to our members with RSI, to such an extent that they signed a seperate deal with the management- when a journalist gets RSI is a disaster, however when a secretary suffers from it it is altogether less serious.

Equally here it seems that 9 journalists are going to be made redundant, not nice and naturally should be fought against, particularly as management refuses to forego their bonuses, however another 60, yes sixty, staff memebrs from advertising, circulations, admin are on their way out- have the NUJ even bothered to talk to the other unions. Doubt it.

Peter Chapman is a good, hard working FOC, just a shame about his members.

Saying all of that, it is about time I actually joined the NUJ French section, seems to be run by old Party comrades. Home sweet home..

Green and Red Spark Board Home - Green and Red Spark Board

Green and Red Spark Board Home - Green and Red Spark Board

I have been thinking about writing a book for some time. There are some superb eco-socialist texts out there but many are either US orientated or dated. So I thought I would start the process of bringing together some of the wonderful ideas out there into one updated, European orientated book.

This wiki I hope will start the process of drawing together my often confused and incoherent thoughts into something useful.
